About Euphonious

Music is one of the world’s biggest art branches. We have different kinds of music in each country due to different races, beliefs, religions and etc. Therefore, playing music instruments is also considered an important skill that we should learn for today’s social lifestyle.

In UTP this kind of entertainment is very much favoured by the students. Students have formed their own bands and usually enjoy playing variety of songs among themselves. But the problem occurs when they are not given the opportunity to expose themselves to the outside world and also to compete among other bands in the university, in order to gain more experience and sharpen their skills for future benefits. This year, we plan to open the participation to other 10 universities in Malaysia to take part in the finals of EUPHONIOUS 2010 so that we can maintain the standard as well as giving opportunities to other universities to discover the talents

Regarding this matter, EUPHONIOUS 2010 have been suggested to be the platform for students to display their talents in the art of music. The target of this competition however, is not only to inculcate students mostly from technical background with a passion for the arts but to unearth hidden talent among the students.

The name of this competition, EUPHONIOUS is also synonymous with our objective which is to take UTP students’ standard in art and music to a higher level. The concept of this event will also promote better relations among students of UTP, thus achieving the university’s vision of creating a harmonious environment. It is also conducive towards gaining musical knowledge.

The objectives of this project are:

1. To unearth and discover musical talents among UTP and IPTA/IPTS students.

2. To dissolve barriers be it age or race, thus creating a more harmonious environment in the university.

3. To introduce new UTP students to the art and music facilities in UTP.

4. To give opportunities to students to experience a competitive atmosphere in a band competition.

5. To establish good communication among students and staffs.

6. To act as an extra curricular activity for students who are interested. The continuation of Modern Music 1 and Modern Music 2.

7. To act as a platform for students to show their talents, skills and creativity in the art of music.

8. To realize the vision of UTP to produce well-rounded students.

9. To strengthen the relationship between our university and other universities.
